Overview 

In this exercise, you will apply what you've learned from the preceding assignments and exercises to identify the name and origin of metamorphic rock samples using their texture and composition.    

Instructions

1. If you've not yet done so, complete the pre-lab exercise. 
2. Open up the Metamorphic Rocks Identification Lab and Make a Copy. You will input your answers directly on your copy of the lab. 
3. Read the lab. 
4. Answer the Pre-lab questions. 
5. Using the metamorphic rock specimens provided in class, use the Metamorphic Rock Identification Table to identify the name of each rock. Record your answer Metamorphic Rocks Answer Table. 
6. Paste an accessible link to question 1 for credit.

• Students can explain the rock cycle, differentiate among the three types of rocks, and use texture and composition to identify common rocks and their origin
