Biography:
I was born in Veracruz, Mexico. I came with my family to the United States when I was 16 years old. I graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1985, and then enrolled at East Los Angeles Community College. Five and half years later, I graduated from ELAC and transfered to UCLA, where I earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Pure Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Education. I taught 8th grade math at Gage Middle School for one year, then I taught mathematics at Gahr High School for 9 years. During my last two years at Gahr, I completed a Masters Degree in Mathematics at CSU Fullerton. In 2001, I became a full-time faculty member of the Mathematics Department at Cerritos College, where I have been Department Chair since Spring 2019.
I live in the City of Downey with my wife, Sylvia, my daughters, Rebecca and Isabella, and our four dogs, Blake, Chip, Maddie, and Ruby. I like to solve puzzles, go the movies, cook, play chess, and read poetry.
I love my job!!
