Falcon’s Corner

“Between Equity Blvd. and Professional Development Lane”

Falcon’s Corner is a new archive of equity literacy resources that will feature a variety of teaching strategies, assignments, professional development resources, as well as original scholarly content and innovative contributions.

Spinning out of a partnership between the Teaching & Learning Modules, CRTL (Culturally Relevant Teaching and Learning Modules), and ALAERT (A Liberal Arts Equity Response Team) Falcon’s Corneraims to build a digital archive where faculty can discover, learn more about, and share exciting professional development opportunities rooted in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). As a campus store-house for equity-resources, we offer instructors, staff, and administrators information for both on- and off-campus conferences, workshops, and webinars.

    • Innovative assignments, classroom activities, tips and tricks of the teaching trade, and short articles that offer equity literacy strategies on teaching and learning.
    • Equity resource archives that contain national/local data trends in equity and higher education

Complete theSubmission Form

Submissions will be accepted during the end of the Spring semester and the beginning of summer. 

Essays should be no longer than 1,500 words, aside from tables, graphics, and references, and should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt font. (**MLA, APA, & CMS formats accepted**)

StudentEquity Professional Development Sub-Committee

  • Identifies and promotes attendance of off/on campus professional development opportunities and communicates the lessons learned back to the larger committee and campus community
    • TASK: Inventory the off campus professional development opportunities for the next year
    • 􏰀TASK: Create structure, guidelines, workflow for PD requests
    • 􏰀TASK: Identify equity resources for professional development, including data and national/local trends, to inform the development of a campus website or resource repository
  • Facilitate communication with other campus professional development sources, namely, the CTX, Senate Committee on Faculty Professional Development, HumanResources, Academic Affairs, Student Services, and the President’s Office
    • TASK: Identify the communication strategy and workflow of communications with professional development across campus
