Course Description:
This course is designed to acquaint the student with the knowledge of principles, procedures, and opportunities in small business management. It covers such topics as entrepreneurial opportunities, developing a business plan, marketing, operations, and financial management. It briefly covers the practical aspects of record keeping, planning, and control.

Student Learning Outcomes:
- Create Business Plan signifying the advantages and challenges to the proposed new business.
- Recite the advantages and disadvantages of self-employment.
- Identify the important records that must be kept by a small business.
- List the basic steps in making a sale.
Course Requirements:
In order to take this course, you must:
- Have access to a computer
- Have continuous broadband internet access
- Have the ability/permission to install plug-ins or software (e.g. Adobe Reader or Flash)
- Have the ability to download and save files and documents to a computer
- Have the ability to open Microsoft files and documents (.doc, .ppt, .xls, etc.)
- Have competency in the English language
- Have an email address & access to high speed internet.
Course Necessities:
- Have class textbook and use it for the assessments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe PDF creator.
- Read all of the chapters.
- Complete the Quizzes.
- Complete the Assignments.
- Participate in the Class Discussions.
- Submit your work on time.
