• Use diagnostic physical properties of minerals, i.e., hardness, cleavage, streak, heft, etc., to identify common rock-forming minerals 

After completing the assigned readings and watching and considering the lecture video, you should be ready to complete this exercise.  Along with your reading, you will find the clues needed to answer these questions from Appendices 3.1 and 3.2 from your lab textbook.  In some instances, more than one mineral will meet the requirements, and more than one property is required to make an accurate identification.
