  1. What characteristic of sedimentary rocks makes them easily recognizable in the field?

  4. Watch this short video, The San Andreas Fault Links to an external site., then answer this question, “How likely do you think it is that we could experience the Big One, a major earthquake on the San Andreas fault, while we are on our field trip?” Explain.
  5. If a major earthquake happens on the San Andreas fault every 150 years, and the last major earthquake was in 1857, when should the next one happen? Considering your answer, what does this mean?
